Sustainability

Investors and the general public are increasingly insisting companies act in an environmentally responsible manner. In response, companies are releasing sustainability reports detailing their efforts so consumers and other companies can see their efforts.

Sustainability can be broken up into three aspects also known as "the triple bottom line": environmental stewardship, economic prosperity and social responsibility.

Lighting Services is committed to limiting our impact on the environment. Through simple actions like recycling, turning off office equipment and limiting printing, as well as being active in our local community, we hope to make the world a better place for generations to come.

Reducing harmful emissions

Energy generation produces harmful emissions, including greenhouse gases. According to the Energy Information Administration (EIA), 76% of the electricity used in the United States is consumed to operate buildings. This usage also accounts for 38% of CO₂ emissions.

The EPA ruling of greenhouse gases, including carbon dioxide, methane and nitrous oxide, means regulation or legislation will soon be passed on to cap the emission of these gases. This will likely increase the price of energy; the easiest way to mitigate this risk is to use less energy. As part of each proposal we present, the reduction in the following items is shown.
