NALMCO

NALMCONALMCO® is an organization of lighting management companies and lighting professionals dedicated to delivering services, information and industry relationships for the benefit of its members and their customers.

Certified Lighting Maintenance Consultant (CLMC)

  • To raise the professional standards of the lighting management industry by giving special recognition to those individuals who, by passing suitable examination and fulfilling prescribed standards of performance and conduct, have demonstrated a high level of technical competence and knowledge, as well as ethical fitness for holding key positions in the industry.
  • To identify persons with acceptable management practices and technical expertise required of the lighting industry.
  • To encourage members of the industry to participate in a continuing program of professional development.

Certified Apprentice Lighting Technician (CALT) & Certified Senior Lighting Technician (CSLT)

  • NALMCO offers home study certification programs which are indispensable for both entry-level and midlevel lighting management personnel. They are the Certified Apprentice Lighting Technician (CALT) and the Certified Senior Lighting Technician (CSLT) designations. Not only do they teach basic and advanced lighting and lighting management operations, they increase the professionalism of your business and serve as an important bridge toward obtaining the Certified Lighting Management Consultant (CLMC) status.

Illuminating Engineering Society of North America (IES)

IESThe Illuminating Engineering Society of North America (IES) is the recognized technical authority on illumination. For over 100 years; its objective has been to communicate information on all aspects of good lighting practice to its members, to the lighting community, and to consumers, through a variety of programs, publications, and services.

Local IES Sections and many lighting corporations offer formal educational programs on lighting, utilizing material developed by IES. Sections offer programs related to specific applications based on IES standards - seminars on sports and recreational lighting, lighting industrial facilities, roadway lighting, museum lighting, to name a few. Virtually every curriculum devoted to lighting - from beginner to advanced - includes IES educational materials.

Association of Energy Engineers (AEE)

AEEThe Association of Energy Engineers (AEE) is your source for information and networking in the dynamic fields of energy engineering and energy management, renewable and alternative energy, power generation, energy services, sustainability, and all related areas. As a growing professional association, AEE's overall strength is augmented by its strong membership base of over 13,000 professionals in 81 countries and its widely recognized energy certification programs. Its network of 71 local chapters located throughout the U.S. and abroad meet regularly to discuss issues of regional importance.

Certified Lighting Efficiency Professional (CLEP)

AEE's Certified Lighting Efficiency Professional (CLEP) program is designed to provide recognition for professionals who have distinguished themselves as leaders in the field of lighting efficiency. The designation CLEP identifies individuals who have demonstrated high levels of experience, competence, proficiency, and ethical fitness, bringing to their professional activities the full scope of knowledge requisite to the development and implementation of effective lighting efficiency solutions within the commercial, industrial, institutional and governmental market sectors.

US Green Building Council (USGBC)

USGBCThe U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) is a Washington, D.C.-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization committed to a prosperous and sustainable future for our nation through cost-efficient and energy-saving green buildings. USGBC works toward its mission of market transformation through its LEED green building certification program, robust educational offerings, a nationwide network of chapters and affiliates, the annual Greenbuild International Conference & Expo, and advocacy in support of public policy that encourages and enables green buildings and communities.

Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED AP)

LEED Professional Credentials (LEED AP and Green Associate) recognize professionals who have demonstrated a thorough understanding of green building techniques, the LEED green building rating systems, and the certification process. The LEED Professional Credentials program is administered by the Green Building Certification Institute (GBCI), which was established with the support of USGBC to allow for objective, balanced management of the credential program.

Safety

The management and employees of Lighting Services, Inc. are committed to a safe work environment and operates in full compliance with all safety and health regulations established by federal, state and local governments.

An effective safety program requires site-specific planning, accountability, attitude and training. Each project is closely analyzed to identify and mitigate risks to the health and well-being of our installation teams and our customer's employees.

Every person on the worksite shares equally the responsibility to maintain a safe working environment. Project Managers and foremen are directly accountable to management for the crew's safety. Taking corrective action on safety hazards is appreciated and encouraged at all levels of employment.

All project personnel must participate in our orientation program, which includes the recognition of safety and environmental health issues as project priorities.

Lighting Services, Inc. has been pre-qualified by PICS, a third party contractor management firm that some of our customers use.
